Wet or Electric Underfloor Heating?
The right system depends on the size of the area, your floor and how you heat the rest of your home. We will look at your project and recommend the option that makes most sense for you.
Wet underfloor heating
Warm water from your boiler or heat pump runs through pipes under the floor. It costs more to install but less to run, so it is the usual choice for kitchens, open-plan spaces, extensions and whole floors. It works at lower water temperatures than radiators, which also makes it a good match for heat pumps.
Electric underfloor heating
Thin heating mats or cables sit just under the floor finish. It is cheaper and quicker to fit, with minimal change to floor height, but costs more to run. It suits bathrooms, en suites and single rooms.

Which floors can go on top?
Tiles and stone work best because they pass heat through well. Engineered wood, laminate, vinyl and many carpets also work, as long as they are rated for underfloor heating and the underlay is suitable. We will check your choice before installation.
Common questions
Can it be added to one room? Yes. Electric systems are ideal for single rooms, and a wet system can be run from your existing boiler with its own controls.
Does it raise the floor level? Electric mats add very little. Wet systems vary depending on whether they go into a screed or a low-profile board, and we explain the options before you choose.
How much does it cost? It depends on the floor area, the type of system and the floor build-up, so we visit and give you a free written quote.

Hi everyone who requires a great job done on a tiny shower room. Jamie young but knows his job far beyond his years. He had a great team behind him as we needed a full job done on our only shower room. Great plasterer and a tiler who can transform un...even walls and shapes into a shower room fit for any hotel. We would recommend him to all who asks for a plumber. We had bought the tiles and toilet/sink but how jamie transformed pipes that had stuck out from the walls and prevented us from getting a wall to wall shower tray is a miracle. Great team, great job.
