Jamie has caused us one of the worst boiler service experiences we’ve ever had. Our boiler was working perfectly before he touched it — no faults, no pressure issues, and both thermostats and temperature controls were functioning normally. He charge...d us £180 last year for a repair, and this September we called him again for a routine service. During this service, he spent over 1.5 hours struggling to connect the thermostats and could not fix it until I suggested he call the boiler/thermostat company, and only after speaking with their representative was he able to connect it. Despite failing to resolve the issue himself, he still charged us £80 for the service. Immediately after his “service,” the boiler’s temperature control buttons stopped working, the lights went off, and he falsely claimed they were already faulty — even though I had used them that same morning with no issue. He then pushed us to replace a part costing £360, plus another £80 call‑out fee, even though the boiler became faulty only after he opened it. When he returned to fit the part, he left without checking the boiler or radiators. Soon after, the boiler pressure shot up to 3.3–3.8 bar, far above the safe range of 1.3–1.8 bar. He states this as “normal,” ignored multiple calls, and refused to acknowledge the fault. Days later, we discovered upstairs radiators were heating even with the thermostat OFF, while downstairs radiators stayed cold. This issue started only after his service and part replacement. He ignored our calls, replied only when we texted, and kept insisting everything was “normal.” When I finally lowered the pressure myself, he blamed me for causing the radiator issue and demanded £110 to visit again — even though the problem existed long before I touched anything. He then stopped responding completely and appears to have blocked us. It is clear he creates faults during service to charge for repeated repairs. His behaviour is dishonest, irresponsible, and financially exploitative. I strongly advise everyone to avoid him.

Jamie did a great job installing our new boiler and upgrading us to a smart thermostat. He was fast to respond to my initial query, talked us through all the options and once the quote had been accepted he was quick to organise the install date and g...et the job done with no fuss. We are very happy with the work he’s completed and will be using him for our annual service going forward.

How long does a boiler installation take?
Most like-for-like combi swaps take a day. Moving the boiler or converting from a regular or system boiler to a combi usually takes two to three days. We confirm the timescale at the survey.
Should I repair or replace my boiler?

How efficient are new boilers?
Modern condensing boilers typically convert over 90% of the gas they burn into heat, compared with much lower figures for many older boilers. The right size, good controls and a clean system all help it run at its best. Annual servicing keeps it that way.
Will I need new radiators or pipework?
Usually not. We may recommend changes if your current system is not compatible with the new boiler, if radiators are undersized or if there are existing problems with the pipework. We point these out at the survey so there are no surprises.
Can you move my boiler to a different position?
Yes, as long as the new position meets the flue and gas regulations. It adds to the cost and time, so we discuss the options with you at the survey.
Can I still replace my gas boiler with a new one?
Yes. If you live in an existing home, you can replace a gas boiler with a new gas boiler. The planned restrictions on gas boilers apply to new-build homes.
Are you Gas Safe registered?
Yes. Our Gas Safe registration number is 952096, and you can check it on the Gas Safe Register. We notify every new boiler to Building Control through the Gas Safe scheme, and you receive the certificate in the post.
Can you fit a smart thermostat with my new boiler?
Yes. A wireless thermostat is included in our package, and we can fit a smart thermostat instead if you would like to control your heating from your phone. Mention it at the survey and we will include it in your quote.
